“The dance ball has been under the patronage of “Saltatio – Historisches Tanzen Aachen e. V.” since 2010 and is the association’s largest event. In addition to the annual dance ball, our association offers several weekly training sessions in Aachen and is available for performances. You can find all further information about our association on our website .

Since 2006, the dance ball has been held in the Winkelsaal of Burgau Castle in Düren. 200 dance enthusiasts from the historical dance scene, LARP, and reenactment meet here to experience an evening full of dance and games. Our guests are a diverse mix of people. Everyone is welcome, as long as they enjoy dancing and adhere to our dance ball code. We started with the ball as a dance LARP, but this has since changed. Ever since our 2016 anniversary ball in Wuppertal with 800 dancers, we have been attracting more and more people from different groups. The proportion of LARPers has decreased, but still accounts for a good 40%. Therefore, it is still important to us to remain true to our roots. There is no plot and no obligation to play, but rules that are primarily adapted to the appropriate atmosphere. There are also various game options, such as the framework provided by the invitation from Baron de la Lyra. These are integral parts of the ball.”
